A Quick Guide of 4dots online teaching application (version 03)

The complete application revolving around three type of users

  1. Administrator
  2. Teacher/ Student
  3. Student

1. ADMINISTRATOR

  • Admin can schedule the class for the teacher. Teacher will get the notification that a class is scheduled for you.
  • Admin can invite any user from anywhere to attend that class as a student. Admin always have all options available to invite the students. Like Non-registered users, registered users, group of users.
  • Admin can edit, cancel any class of any presenter at any time. On edit or cancel any class all students and teacher of that class gets notification.
  • Admin can see all classes of all presenters on the class listing page.
  • Admin can invite students, edit and cancel any class at any time of any presenter. On edit or cancel any class all students and teacher of that class gets notification.
  • Admin can manage all invitations of any class. Admin can cancel any invitation or can re-invite any student. Notification will be delivered to students and teacher about this action.
  • Admin can launch any upcomimg class and also have full control to take that live class parallelly to the presenter. In this case admin need to enter his name before entering in the class.
  • Admin can see the class recording of any class which is opted as to be recorded.
  • Admin can download recording of any class which is opted as to be recorded.
  • Admin can see the attendance of any completed class.
  • Admin can manage content completely for any teacher.
  • Admin can upload the content for any teacher for their content library, which can be access by teacher in virtual classroom.
  • Admin can delete any content from content library.
  • Admin can add teacher only.
  • Admin select the user from user list to whom he want to add as a teacher.
  • Admin can add limited teacher as much as Virtual Classroom API allows.
  • Admin can manage the groups.
  • Admin can create, edit, activate or deactivate the groups.
  • Admin can add teachers or students in the group.
  • Admin can manage the users of application.
  • Admin can lock(deactivate) or unlock(activate) any user either user is teacher or student
  • Admin can add anyone in any group.
  • Admin can see all application highlights like usage on their dashboard.

2. TEACHER

  • Teacher can schedule the class, if teacher have the permission.
  • Teacher can invite the students for that class through the available option only as per teacher’s permission assigned.
  • Teacher can invite the users for their classes:
    • By email address- who are not registered on your website – if this permission is true
    • By Group- If admin created any group of users for the teachers– if this permission is true
    • Any user of website – if this permission is trueborn
  • Teacher can edit and cancel their classes at any time, if the respective permission is true. On edit or cancel class all students and teacher of that class gets notification.
  • Teacher can see all classes only related to him on class listing page.
  • Teacher can invite students, edit, and cancel class at any time, if these permissions are true. On edit or cancel any class all students and teacher of that class gets notification.
  • Teacher can manage all invitations of their classes. Teacher can cancel any invitation or can re-invite any student. Notification will be delivered to students and teacher about this action.
  • Teacher can launch only his classes with all controls. Teacher enters in the virtual classroom directly without entering his name. The teacher’s name already sent.
  • Teacher can see the class recording of their classes which are opted as to be recorded
  • Teacher can download recording of their class which as opted as to be recorded.
  • Teacher can see the attendance of their completed class.
  • Teacher can manage their content, if this permission is true.
  • Teacher can upload the content for their content library, which can be access in virtual classroom, if this permission is true.
  • Teacher can delete any content from their content library only, if this permission is true.

3.STUDENT

  • All students will receive an email on their email_address (like student1@yahoo.com)
  • Already registered users will also receive a message to join that class in his internal mailbox.
  • Already registered users will also get a notification in header to get their attention.
  • Unregistered user will only get the class invitation email on his email_address. To join that class
  • User will redirect to signin/siginup. He will register first than he would be able to join that class.

Teacher can launch the class at any time, it means before its time. It will helpful to prepare his online class before- he can upload the content or can create anything on whiteboard, so that the actual time can be saved while taking the class.

Student can do with invitation:

  • Student can accept or decline the class invitation.
  • Student accept the class invitation- it means student confirm his seat.
  • Student can decline the class invitation with reason.
  • Students cannot enter in the virtual classroom before class time starts.
  • Student can see the recording of class.
  • Student can download the recording of class.

Paypal Integrated

This application is integrated with Paypal payment gateway. You can recieve and collect payment on your paypal account. Content, Classes and content etc can be set as paid. User will be only access after making payment.

Dashboard: [available to all]

  • Each user will see their activity highlights and summary on their dashboard.
  • Application usage and stats will be available to admin’s dashboard only.

Class Listing: [available to all]

Class listing is categorised as per their status like:

All Classes:

Here all classes are listed at one place with two way sorting. All online classes arranged as per their status wise with two way sorting. Upcoming online classes will display first in ascending order by [start date], so that you will get nearest upcoming online classes on top. Then you will see in the completed online classes in descending order by [start date], so that you will get recent upcoming class on top, then cancelled and expired.

Upcoming:

Only the future classes which are yet to be come are listed with sorting ascending on start date.

Invitation:

You are invited for those classes, all will be listed here with sorting ascending on start date

Completed:

All completed class will be listed here with sorting descending on start date.

Cancelled:

All cancelled classes will be listed here with sorting descending on start date.

Expired:

All expired classes will be listed here with sorting descending on start date.

In Class list- class title is a link, which bring you on class detail page.

All classes will be shown with color legends and each legend denotes:

The stats of total seats and total invited are available with upcoming and completed classes only.

The available actions automatically switches on class status change. Like upcoming class can be cancelled, Invitation can be send for upcoming classes only, View recording can be available with completed class only.

CONTENT Page: [available to admin and teacher only]

All contents will be managed from here. Content listing, content uploading, folder creation all will be managed from here. Supported files are:

All teacher will be manage from this page, teacher can be activate and deactivate, can be add/ edit, permissions can be managed from here.

Extended Application TEACHER Page: [available to admin only]

This is premium feature of the application. To use this feature -it should be enable from control panel. You can add any numbers of teachers. All application teacher will be manage from this page, teacher can be activate and deactivate, can be add/ edit, permissions can be managed from here.

INBOX page: [available to all]

All communication or messaging can be check here.

MANAGE USERS: [available to admin only]

All existing users on the website can be managed from here like activating, deactivating, adding in group etc.

MANAGE GROUPS: [available to admin only]

All groups will be managing from here, including create a new group, edit group, adding and removing users in group.

Without a administrator this online teaching application will not be run. So to run this application- the administrator should configure this through a control panel available to administrator only.

This complete application can be enabled or disabled. In case of disable- the all urls of the application will be temporary redirect to above given url.

your account keys

These are your WizIQ Virtual Classroom API’s Keys. You need to enter the keys carefully in their respective field only. Mixing keys field will cause application not to work

Web Service Urls: These are the static urls of Virtual Classroom API. It will never change. It is required communicating with the virtual classroom API.

Application settings: All settings related to the application are lying here.

Enter Your Domain:

This setting is used to run and validate that- it is run on a given domain.

Enter application email address.

In this setting- the email – address is used to send all communication email and notification from this email address.

Do you want to use group feature:

By this setting true: You will be able to create and manage groups of users on the application.

Do you want to you Extended Application Feature:

By this settings true: You will be able to create or add any number of application teachers on the application. N numbers of teachers can be add on the application. The add/ edit application teachers with manage permissions of application teachers.

Do you want to enable Self Approval for Application Teacher:

By this setting true: User can register as a teacher and it will be approved automatically and create classes and upload contents too. All permission will be given to registered teacher by default.

Do you want to use Application Content Library Feature:

By this feature: Teacher can sell their content on the application, but it require admins approval, then after student/ learner can buy the contents after paying content price.

Virtual Classroom Settings:

Virtual classroom settings should be mention here. Return url is the url where users lands just after completing the class. Status ping url is the url where the application receive the status of done from virtual classroom server. It is used to update the status in database.
